DTY

On Friday, Shelly Harrison and Kristin Martinez were completely willing to cover the phones so that Ben could focus on finalizing an important presentation. Not only were Shelly and Kristin willing to cover the phones, but they also simultaneously tackled another project! Talk about multi-tasking. :) Shelly and Kristin are always willing to help and are wonderful team players. Thank you!

Spirit of Durham Enterprises Award

The Spirit of Durham Enterprises is awarded to an individual showing the core values of a Durham employee: attitude, team work, and dependability. The recipient keeps the trophy for a month and at the next staff meeting chooses and presents the award to the next Durham employee.

Marc Monson is the first recipient of the award. :) Congratulations Marc!

Marc's history with Durham:
  • Start Date: 1/26/06- 3 years and 4 months of loyal service
  • Supply Chain has been his home from the start.
  • He has produced a tool from scratch orchestrating supporting elements between 4 factories with his team.
  • He's spent many late nights as a requirement to get product produced. There have been countless 1:30 a.m. emails.
  • He's been a tremendous trainer to Mike and Jacob.
  • He's led the warehouse team to become an increasingly well-oiled machine.
  • Honesty is his middle name. Vendors know they can trust Marc.
  • Creative problem solver. He never presents an issue without a solution.
  • Great attitude. He never complains.
  • Team player- he is always willing to help and add value when asked.
  • Dependability- He's not afraid to face a challenge and own it.

Debbie Johnson and Julie Cagle do a tremendous job of running the accounting department. They keep our partners happy and make sure that bills and invoices are paid. They certainly do their part to keep the company running as smoothly as possible, especially as our company is growing and expanding.

While Marc Monson was out of the office for a week, Jacob Durham, Mike Thomson, and Kenny Scribner kept things moving efficiently through the supply chain. Jacob, Mike and Kenny all took on additional responsibilities that allowed Marc to take a much needed family vacation.

As Marc said, "Having a team you can trust, so if you leave you aren't biting your nails the whole time worrying about what isn't happening in the office, is definitely a part of making this a great place to work."

Thanks Jacob, Mike and Kenny! Your team work is really appreciated. :)

Bridget Bradley adds so much value with her diligence and hard work. She makes countless phone calls to help push orders along. She takes extremely good care of her customers and always updates them and works to make sure their orders are processed correctly. She recently took initiative to go online and add more kit companies to our email list and to create a Facebook account. She goes the extra effort to make important changes and we really appreciate that. :) Thanks Bridget!

Even though Renee just had some minor surgery, she worked from home everyday until a time sensitive design project was finished! :) Renee is a team player and a great member of our Durham family. We really appreciate you and we're glad you're feeling better too.
